For months we kept getting the same question in DMs and comments: “When are you adding North Carolina?” This past month we finally did. Here’s why it mattered and what changed.
Why We Added North Carolina
redlightcam started as a way to find car meets and automotive events without digging through a dozen Facebook groups or hoping someone would post the flyer in time. We launched with a focus on South Carolina because that’s where the community first took shape. But the Carolinas share more than a name, they share a scene. People drive from Charlotte to Charleston for shows. Raleigh and Columbia have overlapping crews. So treating “the Southeast” as one region was always the goal; North Carolina was the obvious next step.
In February 2026 we turned on location tracking and listing for North Carolina. That means the redlightcam event directory now surfaces car meets, car shows, cruises, and community events across NC in the same place you already use for South Carolina. One calendar, both Carolinas.
What You’ll See in the Directory Now
We’re tracking events across the state, not just one city. You’ll find listings for Charlotte (and the surrounding area), Raleigh and the Triangle, Durham, Greensboro and the Triad, Winston-Salem, Asheville and Western NC, Wilmington and the coast, and more as we discover and verify them. If you run a North Carolina car meet or know an NC automotive event that isn’t listed yet, we’re constantly adding new ones, the directory is only as good as the events we know about.
How to Use It
Nothing changes in how you use the site. Head to the Events section, then filter or search by location. Choose North Carolina or a specific city (Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, etc.) and browse by date. Each event has details, location, time, and links so you can plan your weekend or a weeknight meet. Whether you want Charlotte car meets this weekend, Raleigh car shows, or something in the Triad, it’s all in one place now.
One Directory for Both Carolinas
Having South Carolina and North Carolina in the same directory wasn’t just a feature request, it matches how people actually use the scene. A lot of you cross state lines for shows and meets. Now you don’t have to check one site for SC and another for NC. One bookmark, one list, both states. We’ll keep expanding coverage and improving filters based on what you tell us.
